Available positions: ​

We are looking for a Master's or PhD student who will work with a current student in our lab and Feinberg collaborators to develop sequence-defined molecules to preserve membrane structure and function. Please find more details HERE. We are looking for a student with knowledge in chemistry and biochemistry and wet-lab experiences (skilled in chromatography and mass spec techniques).

We also have separate collaborative PhD project integrating molecular probes with bioelectronics for longitudinal disease monitoring. We are looking for students with a chemistry or materials chemistry background. Computational skills is a plus.

We are also interested in recruiting a postdoc with nucleic acid sequence design and immunology knowledge and skills, with a strong interest in developing immune programming materials.  ​​

• PhD and Masters: 

  • We are looking out for outstanding and creative graduate students in chemistry, engineering, biology, materials science and medicine. Ability to perform quantitative data analysis, plotting, and interpretation is important to us. Prospective graduate students apply to our lab primarily through Materials Science and Engineering (MSE). the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD), and the Driskill Graduate Program in Life Sciences. We also welcome students from Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering, and the Feinberg School of Medicine to inquire. 

  • We will not be able to recruit graduate students to the lab who have not yet been admitted to a graduate program at Northwestern University. 

  • All PhD students joining the lab will be strongly encouraged to apply for fellowships internally through the Biotechnology Training Program and our Center affiliations as well as external funding opportunities.

• Postdocs: 

  • We are open to excellent researchers from a wide range of different academic backgrounds and around the world to join our interdisciplinary lab. Candidates with synthetic biology (e.g., cell and protein engineering), chemistry (e.g., molecular probe and peptide synthesis), biology (e.g., immunology, structural biology), and engineering (e.g., nucleic acid-, lipid-, and/or peptide/protein-based materials) trainings are welcomed to apply.
